Adoptmed Resource List, August 2002, with updates
The following list is being provided as a resource for agencies and families so that they may contact professionals who are knowledgeable about the medical, developmental, and behavioral issues which can affect a child who is adopted internationally. These professionals can provide pre- and/or post-adoption evaluations of children to help a family make an informed decision about a referral and to help a child obtain appropriate care and services after they have joined their family. Agencies and families are encouraged to ask the professionals whom they contact about additional services which each may provide. In addition, these professionals can refer families to other specialists in their geographic area to meet a child s specific needs. This is not intended to be an all inclusive list, and we realize that there may be other professionals who are not included on this list, who may be valuable resources.
If your state or country is not listed here, then we do not have a listing for an adoption specialist in that specific area.
