Women s Services
As they assume their new roles, adoptive parents often have questions and concerns. Will our baby adjust to our family What if the adoption experience is different than I anticipated How can I help our baby bond with us What resources are available in the community for adoptive parents
CARE is a special program that addresses the specific concerns and needs of the adoptive family. CARE focuses on both domestic and international adoptions, and provides education, support and skill building that adoptive parents often want as they adapt to their new roles as parents. The workshops are designed to prepare adoptive parents for parenting and to promote optimal attachment and bonding.
In addition, CARE workshops assist adoptive parents in fulfilling the necessary preadoptive education requirements. Convenient sessions are offered on weeknights or Saturdays at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis and taught by instructors who have personal experience with adoption.
