The U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce the Academic Year 2009-2010 Fulbright Junior Staff Development (JSD) Fellowship Program Competition.
The Fulbright JSD Program provides financial assistance for a maximum of two years of study toward a graduate degree at an American university. It is designed primarily to strengthen African universities and training institutions through supporting higher degree training for faculty members. It is then mainly an academic program, but applications are also accepted from prospective candidates in public and private educational and cultural institutions, independent research institutes, and professional institutions.
Grant awards guarantee full or partial funding in a specific year: round-trip travel, insurance coverage, tuition and fees, maintenance allowance, books and supplies, and course-required field trips. Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must be citizens of Botswana; with a Bachelor’s degree or above; either be candidates for an advanced degree in their current field or in a field for which they are well prepared; be affiliated with or committed to working at an academic institution, or a public or private institution upon returning home and have the endorsement of their home institution. They should have a high level of English proficiency; and be between 25 and 45 years old. Preference will be given to candidates who have not studied in the U.S. before.
