He studied Business administration at “Université Adventiste d’Haiti.” He graduated in 2005 and was the Magna Cum Laude from his graduating Business class. He wants to begin a career in financial industry. He was selected among 200 applicants to achieve a Master’s in Accounting/ Finance. Mr. Joanis is scheduled to leave Haiti on March 30th for a living skills training at Colorado Center for the Blind prior to his academic study which will start in August. Note that the Fulbright Program is the keystone exchange program of the U.S. Government and reflects the U.S. commitment to educational excellence and to interchange with other cultures. The Program selects academically-gifted students from around the world to pursue master’s degrees at American Universities. The Haitian Fulbright Scholars follow a rigorous application process to be selected from more than 200 applicants per year. The application process requires the candidates to have a plan for how they intend to put their studies to use to benefit their home country, as well as an interview with a panel of experts and representatives from the U.S. Embassy. The Fulbright Program includes scholarships opportunities for individuals at all levels of professional development, including students (Fulbright Scholars), faculty (LASPAU Faculty Development Program), and mid-career professionals (Humphrey Fellows).
