Today Secretary Rice met Icelandic Foreign Minister Ingibjorg Solrun Gisladottir at the Department of State. The meeting continued the bilateral Security Dialogue outlined in the 2006 Joint Understanding between our two countries, which began with Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Nick Burns visit to Reykjavik in June 2007. The meeting also focused on the role of women in peace-building.
Expert-level discussions under the bilateral Security Dialogue are scheduled to take place in Washington later this spring.
