American Embassy Joins Royal Marine Conservation Society in Celebrating Earth Day
April 19 – In celebration of Earth Day 2008, the American Embassy in Amman joined its partners in the Royal Marine Conservation Society (JREDS), the Ministry of Environment, and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) in organizing a beach clean-up campaign April 19 at the Marine Park in Aqaba.
USAID Mission Director Jay Knott, JREDS Chair HRH Princess Basma bint Ali, and Minister of Environment Khaled Irani joined over 150 people from around Jordan including government officials, diplomats, and schoolchildren in the beach clean-up campaign. Full Text
