DHAKA, APRIL 21 - This morning I presented my credentials to President Iajuddin Ahmed, formally beginning my tenure as the 13th Ambassador of the United States to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. I am honored to be here, and I am grateful that I was able to present my credentials so soon after my arrival. My wife, Lauren, and I are delighted to be in Bangladesh.
It is an honor and privilege for me to serve as Ambassador of the United States of America to Bangladesh. I look forward to learning more about Bangladesh and its people and helping Bangladeshis understand the United States better. The United States is a steadfast friend of the Bangladesh people and Lauren and I look forward to living here.

New U.S. Ambassador Arrives Thursday
James F. Moriarty
Ambassador-Designate to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, James F. Moriarty, will arrive in Dhaka on Thursday, April 10th. Ambassador Moriarty was nominated by the President on September 5, 2007 and confirmed by the United States Senate on March 13, 2008.
