Visit of Acting Deputy Secretary Pamela Spratlen to Uzbekistan (04/01/2008)
On March 27 - April 1, 2008, Acting Deputy Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Pamela Spratlen conducted a useful visit to Uzbekistan. She met with several Uzbek Government officials including the Speaker of Parliament Dilorom Tashmukhamedova, Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Norov, Minister of Foreign Economic Relations Elyor Ganiev, Chairman of Religious Affairs Committee Ortiq Yusupov, and Secretary of the National Security Council Murod Ataev.

Embassy Works with Local Community to Beautify Seattle Peace Park (03/29/2008)
To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Sister City relationship between Seattle and Tashkent, the U.S. Embassy organized a Clean-Up of the Seattle Peace Park in Tashkent on March 29. To help clean the park, U.S. Embassy staff gathered, along with more than 60 others, including alumni of USG-exchange programs, regular visitors to the Embassy’s Information Resource Center and students from a nearby lyceum.
