Over the years I have been thinking about adopting, and I now feel the time is right. I have a specific child I would like to adopt, but this orphanage is not connected to any international agency. I wanted to know if there are any social workers that would do an independent home study. I live in Northwest Missouri near Kansas City. If nothing else, where could I find information on this type of adoption Thanks for all your help. We adopted three from Haiti and went through an orphange (no agency). I m pretty sure I can get you the name of the social worker that does the homestudy for the kids - but you will also need a Haitian lawyer to handle the paper...
