Is There Any Relative Foster Adoption Compensation
My husband and I had some friends over on Monday, and we were casually discussing our goals for the rest of the year. Funnily, the discussion changed to our interest in foster-adoption.
One of the two seemed to get very touchy all of a sudden, and when asked why, she told us about how one of her sisters was unable to care for her two children and placed with another family member. From what I gather, the family did not receive any sort of compensation, even though it began as a foster placement.
She was very upset that the other sister who took in her nephews was left to foot any bills that followed them, being that she had children of her own as well.
I probably had my information all wrong, but I told her that I was pretty sure her other sister received some sort of financial help. She said the state paid their medical but that was it.
I ve never heard of a situation like this. Am I just ignorant or was this sister truly wronged
