Staying in the game
Participating in sporting activities, no matter what level, can teach kids to stretch their limits, as well as good sportsmanship and discipline. But any sport children and teens play also carries the potential for injury. Often their growing bodies are more prone to injuries. They re also less coordinated and have slower reaction times than adults. However, there are steps young athletes and their parents can take to reduce injuries. This includes knowing and following the rules of the game; using proper equipment; and learning proper conditioning and techniques to help prevent common sports injuries.
