Two Months
Its been officially 2 months since our "Gotcha Day". Its weird because that is not that much time, but I feel like Shayla has been with us for so much longer. Its now getting harder to remember how each day was without her. Its so weird to think weve not even been back from China for 2 months yet because it feels like China was forever ago. Time flies...I know it doesnt feel like it when you are desperately waiting for a referral, but after that, it does fly by quickly. Cherish every moment.
This is us as we were checking in at the White Swan in Guangzhou.

What else More Shayla
Can you see whats the same in all these pictures Yep, the carseat. The top picture was the first time Shayla had ever even been in a carseat. It was coming home from the airport. That very tired smile didnt last long...she cried almost the whole drive home as she was trying to get out of it. In China you just hold your baby on your lap. Now shes fine and forward facing.

Halloween part 2
This year, instead of Shayla walking around the neighborhood, we went to the Halloween party at the Louisville Zoo. She was Eyore (the store we went to had very few things in her size). Many people passing out candy at the zoo kept thinking she was a boy. They talked to her a little more roughly instead of more softly. Just something I picked up on...I never had noticed how baby boys are not talked to as softly. On Halloween night (which was also her first birthday), we stayed at home and passed out candy.
