Chinese Adoption Bookmarks
We worked hard getting the house ready for the new baby. John, Brandi, Amber and myself ALL spent many hours working. With John leading the group, we finished another bedroom in the basement, repainted the entire house, ripped up all our carpet and had new installed, and set up a TV/sitting area for the teenagers downstairs. Next we started on the nursery and I LOVE how it turned out. The theme is Pooh, of course! I can just picture our little angel in her room playing.

Our Adoption Timeline...
Dec.5th, 2004 - Started our paperwork for adoption through Childrens Hope International
Dec.30th, 2004 - Doctors appointment for all four of us to get physicals.
Dec.30th, 2004 - Our first interview with our social worker from C.H.I.
Jan.6th, 2005 - Our second interview. This one was at our home.
Jan.26th, 2005 - All of our paperwork is done. Received our Home Study.
Feb.24th, 2005 - Appointment with Citizenship Immigration Services for fingerprinting.
March 7th, 2005 - All documents certified by the state of Missouri and shipped to Chinese Consulate in Chicago for authentication.
March 18th, 2005 - Dossier (all paperwork) completed and sent to China.
April 15th, 2005 - Log in Date at China.
At this time, we estimate about a six month wait fromt he Log In Date. So, were hoping to get our referral in mid-October. Of course sooner would be better, but well see. We will be traveling to China to pick up Katie about 4 to 6 weeks after we receive our referral. Check back here for more updates as we go.
June 12th, 2005 - I found a lady bug in our house! Its the first one Ive seen since we started the adoption process. It is also our 6th anniversary today!
